The shipmates of the ships named USS Holder DE401, DD819, and DDE819 came together in Destin, Florida at the Destin Holiday Inn for their 21st reunion.
Welcome Aboard! Hospitality room open.
Although the weather was a little inclement, the USS Holder shipmates did not let it phase them. The hospitality room was open and everyone found some time to gather together in friendly conversation and remember. Many people did some sightseeing on their own or did some shopping at some of the many stores available close-by.
1600 The annual business meeting was well atended.
A barbeque buffet was served at 1900. How can you miss with good food and good shipmates?
Shipmates gathered onto two buses and went to Pensacola Naval Air Station , where they enjoyed the Naval Air Museum and the presentation at the IMAX Theater. They were also given an interesting bus tour of old Pensacola and a very satisfying buffet lunch at Quincy's.
This was an open day. A day for a little beach time on the beautiful white sands of the Gulf, more sightseeing, more shopping, and definitely more enjoyable conversations where ever shipmates were found.
At 1830 the annual banquet, a seafood buffet, was a great topper for the day.
This was the day for all the farewells and the shipmates' departures.
