USS Holder Association's 41st Annual Reunion UPDATE

The shipmates of the ships named USS Holder DE401, DD819, and DDE819 will once again be gathering to enjoy the company of one and other, this time in Warwick, Rhode Island for their 41st reunion.

The TENTATIVE EVENTS Dates and Info of the 41st USS Holder Reunion

The Hotel will be the Crowne Hotel Warwick. The hotel rate will be at $129.00 per night including breakfast

The period of the reunion will be 22-26 Sept plus up to 3 days before and after the reunion at the same rate.

1300 -   Reunion sign in/registration begins Hospitality Room.  

1700 -   Light supper/snacks - Hospitality Room.

0630 -   Hospitality room opens for Buffet breakfast.  

0900 -   Load Buses.  

0945 -  Arrive Battleship Cove.  

1000-1030 -  Memorial Service.  

1030-1100 -   Self-guided touring of the cove.  

1100-1200 -   Lunch at Cove.  

1200-1330 -   Continue Self-guided touring of the Cove.  

1330-1400 -  Load Buses.  

1400-1600 -  Tour of Newport. Narrated scenic bus tour of Newport including the colonial section, Ten mile Drive, and Bellevue Ave mansion area.  

1600 -   Depart for Crown Hotel.  

1630 -  Arrive at Hotel.  

1630 -  Hospitality Room Open.  

1700 -   Dinner ON YOUR OWN.

0630 -   Hospitality room opens for Buffet breakfast.  

0900 -   Load Buses.  

0900-0930 -  Trip to Old Mystic Seaport  

0930-1430 -  Self walking(Most of the facility is wheel chair accessible) touring the Old Mystic Seaport, museum with lunch on your own. There are several places to eat from sandwiches to complete sit-down meals.  

1200 -   Lunch ON YOUR OWN.  

1430-1445 -   Travel back to Crowne Hotel.  

1515 -  Arrive at Crowne Hotel.  

1600 -  Hospitality Room Open.  

1700 -   Dinner ON YOUR OWN.  

Own Time -   It has been suggested that we curb back on full dat excursuions. We want more mingling and relaxing time. The hotel offers rides to various restaurants, stores, and shopping areas. Reservations arrangements made through the Hotel concierge.

0900-1000 -  The Executive Meeting Location TBD.  

1000-1100 -  Membership meeting in the Hospitality Room Extension.  

1100-1200 -   The BYRD Raffle will be held.  

1200-1700 -  On your Own time.  

1700-1800 -   Happy hour and pictures taking at and in the Rotunda.  

1800-1810 -   Vice President to present Grace following by a short welcome from the President.  

1810-1910 -   Dinner.  

1910 -   Old Glory (Hank Sipple).  

1915-2015 -  Guest Speaker.  

2015-2030 -  Remarks from our President.  

2030-   Singing of God Bless America.  

2045 -  Hospitality Room Opens.
